General Krulak here:

1.  A couple of games don't make the season...either way you look at it.  I think what I am most happy about is the willingness for the Manager to substitute earlier enough for the subs to make a difference.  Additionally, his calm demeanor and his savvy about the game are also good to see.  He obviously can make a good motivating talk but he also can bring a focus to the game which is important.  We just need to take them one game at a time.  Results count...we just need to keep each game in focus.

I've asked before, exactly who decided to sign S.Ireland, MO, KM or GH?

I think he is an exceptional player, but for me, it really does matter that the Aston Villa manager makes the transfer choices.
Especially when it was cited that bringing down the wage structure was a factor that the previous manager was blasted for.

I feel sorry to have to question when I can see what has been done in the last few years... but I feel its valid.

General Krulak here:

1.  Malandro:  I think I have answered this same question several times before but....here it goes again.  The Manager basically makes the decision on who he wants on the team.  I don't think we would want it any other way.  You certainly don't want the owner out there deciding the make up of the team.  Obviously there is discussions between the Manager and the Owner...but it is the Manager who recommends a "buy."  In the case of Ireland, he was part of a deal.  The previous Manager was not "blasted" regarding the wage structure.  I don't even know what you mean by the term.

General when o neill left was there a clause in the settlement that meant he could not discuss in detail his reasons for leaving?

I ask this as it is something doug often used to put in place when a manager departed to stop that manager causing a stir in future by revealing all.

General,

Without giving too much away. What is Houllier's magic touch with Heskey that O'Neill couldn't seem to bring?

On Sunday i found myself describing him as 'Only the player Ronaldo could have been' A complete transformation from a few weeks ago. Well done to Houllier and his new coaching staff.

General Krulak here"

1.  greenwichvilla:  I wish I knew what has taken place.  In many ways, I believe what Emile has had to say...that it has been hard for him and yet it has been his family that has given him support.  Now, obviously, GH has also provided support and reassurance that he is not finished...that he still has quality football left in him.  Heskey has never been a huge goal scorer but he has the ability to be a big threat...to be around the box when needed...to hold the ball...to be a handful.  And, obviously, he can score.  Again, I don't think any of us can really fathom what is taking place other than to see the obvious...GH has faith in Heskey and Heskey has faith in GH.

Take it for whatever reason general that you either cannot or do not wish to answer whether o neill had a confidentitiality clause inserted in his leaving then general?

Without wishing to answer for The General, i'm not sure what is to be gained from knowing either way. Time to move on and get behind the new man in charge.

With half the hacks in the country checking this thread out as part of their hard daily slog, what do you expect the General to say?

Something like this:

General Krulak here:

1. In regard to MoN, we strapped him to a table, put a towel over his face and water-boarded the fecker for an hour. Told him if he talks, he'll be dragged back for more.

2. In regard to the kit: we strapped Nike's head of production to a table, put a towel over his face and water-boarded the fecker for an hour. Told him if he delays the kit any more, he'll be dragged back for more.

3. In regard to Heskey: we strapped him to a table, put a towel over his face and water-boarded the fecker for an hour. Told him if he stops scoring again, he'll be dragged back for more.

4. In regard to Richard Dunne's weight: we strapped him to a table, put a towel over his face and water-boarded the fecker for an hour. He drank all the water, ate the towel and then started on the table, the fat bastard!

So help me God, if anyone mentions the temperature of the pies or the price of the beer, I'll strap the m****** f****** to a table, put a towel over his face....."

semper fidelis.
