This thread is getting more and more irritating by the day. I thought it was for questions to the General?

General, have you done any liaison with other clubs to see what their perception of us is? Our new manager clearly feels we are 'nice' but that we need to adopt a nice, winning mentality; something with which I'm sure you'd agree.

General, with the recent questions concerning the trophy cabinet, I wondered if there had been any progress on setting up a museum at Villa Park. We are after all one of the oldest clubs in existence, with a proud history, so feel that we should be able to put together some very interesting articles for display. I know from way back when, when I talked to the likes of Johnny Dixon, Harry Parkes and Jimmy Dugdale that they knew of plenty of 'junk' from era's past at the place, and I seem to remember several suggestions of creating a museum. Many of the Premiership clubs without our history have museums with highly successful and well organised tours, why don't we?

General Krulak here:

1.  Troy Eccles:  Fans and the kit.  I am not sure that having the fans decide on a kit is really such a good idea.  We have been trying for several years to get the fans to agree on a "anthem" and have not been successful.  We had the fans deeply involved in picking our badge only to have many disappointed over the choice.  Simply put, getting any agreement is tough enough of something like an anthem...I can imagine what it would be like for a kit.

2.  peterw:  I think it would be pretty tough to bring in a Manager and then dictate to him who his assistants would be.  We have kept many folks at Bodymoor Heath...it was not as though we lost everyone.  Yet, we need to let the Manager have some of his "own" folks...only makes sense.

3.  sfx412:  Yes, we are going to have a museum.  We have an archivist who is working to help us right now.  It would appear that little effort was made to keep many of the artifacts of our Club and those that were kept are in pretty sad shape.  We have our work cut out for us but we will have a quality museum.

General.

I applaud the club for doing all it can to ensure that the ground is full (or trying to get it full) with the reduced ticket prices. However as a season ticket holder it seems at the moment I would have been better off financially NOT buying a season ticket and taking my chances with the match day cheapo tickets.

Is there any anything that season ticket holders could be offered to ensure that we don't get narked with the fact we committed our money before the season started? I'm not talking about free tickets or anything, but maybe a 10% discount on food/drinks in the ground or 50p off a programme?

It's a fair question, the benefits of having a season ticket have been degrading over the last couple of seasons.

The thread is for questions to the General about Villa.

He's not got a huge amount of time to devote to us, so it is safe to say that questions about NFL are right at the bottom of the list.

I didn't see you say this after someone asked him if he liked a bacon or sausage sandwich...

I was just trying to be friendly as i've seen other members ask non-Villa related questions before.

General, hope you're well.

I see the Ticket Office are STILL selling tickets for away matches far far earlier than they need to. The latest being the Fulham game, which went on sale on Wednesday this week, depsite the game not being until the 6th November. With Sunderland away on sale at the moment as well, this can put a bit of a strain on the wallets of people like me who often go to away games and could well be a reason why away games don't sell out like they used to. It's something i've brought up with the ticket office in the past by way of email and i did'nt get a reply.

General,
Are the club looking to start negotiating a new contract for Ashley Young anytime soon?
I think this would be a tremendous morale booster for the club, not to mention that it would send out the right vibes that Aston Villa intend to keep their major players from here on in?

I'm hoping that both parties are wanting the same thing, so lets just do it.

edit: sorry, Nike pun not intended.

Would it not be possible to draw up a shortlist of proposed anthems / kit designs and then organise some kind of referendum?  It would probably have to be limited to season ticket holders to avoid outside fan interference but 20 odd thousand ought to be a big enough sample to be reasonably representative of supporter opinion.  The anthem thing would be a one-off vote anyway.

I'll sort that next time I see people asking questions about bacon and sausage sarnies, then.
