Welcome and all the best!

And well done the Board. Not easy, didn't see this one coming, a really good choice in my opinion.

Bienvenue a la Villa, Gerard.  Bonne chance!

Pardon me if my French is a tad rusty.

Wow just heard Collymore speak absolute tripe on talksport. How is is a bad appointment, how we only gave a 2 year contract (even though his fave manager MON only had a 1 year deal).

Also saying that we should be looking at Birmingham City, Stoke and Sunderland as these are the teams we are competing with.

What a twat!

Some very stupid people e-mailing in on SSN, not surprising, but someone questioned his lack of ability to work with youth, despite bringing through most of the 98 French world cup winning team.

Welcome Gerard. Now lets get on with the season. Glad I booked my anual pilgrimage for the Bolton game now.

Quote
"I could not turn down the opportunity to manage a club whose approach, both on and off the pitch, I have long admired,"

Wonder who told him to say that

And another who said that he hadn't managed in around 8 years. Riiiiiiiiiight.

Welcome Gerard, do your namesakes proud.

Good luck to him. Now let's press on with the season, get behind the team and the manager and show that we're better than 6th in the PL. And a cup would be nice, Monsieur H.

Well said Frank, agree with all that.

against -
style of play, by many accounts was a bit boring at Liverpool
transfers, at Liverpool were at best dire
At worst they were poor, granted, but at best they were superb.
