Darren Anderton would be a good signing too, every time a major tournament came around he and Owen were always remarkably fit and available for selection.

On loan until the nd of the year wouldn't be a problem. He gets injured, he gets sent back.

Owen is clearly past his best, but last season's League Cup final showed his 2 remaining qualities:

1. He is injury prone and will miss more games than he's available for. With a limited 25 man squad, is he worth the risk?
2. Even at this stage of his career he'll score given half a chance. We were right behind the goal at Wembley and had a perfect view of his goal. We don't have anybody who would have even taken that shot leave alone finish it off so well.

Pairing him up with the current version of Emile would be pointless in my view, and they wouldn't get enough playing time together to make it work again. It might however be worth having him around the squad again to help bring on some of our younger players and to assist Gabby with his movement.

Owen works well with Heskey

 Owen prefers Horses not Donkeys.

Owen's like a pig in shit at Man U.

Earning loads of money for cameo appearances and close to home, family and his horses. He's got it made.

I agree with Pete 3206- He's close to his home and probably more importantly his stables, he'll play maybe half the games and probably still pick up a medal or two. Let's go for young, hungry and not injury prone.

I'd rather see him reunite with Källström.

No ta,everytime I see him play I feel a bit bad for him as he's not even a shadow of his former self. When he was at his peek his best assists were his turn of pace and finishing. He has no turn of pace no,and he need a few chances now before he scores.

Is Klas Katt your real name? Much better than Karl Kallstrom.

I would still take Owen. Goalscorer and in Jan any decent forward is hard to find. Get him fit for 10-12 games and get 6-7 goals and jobs a good un.

Another bit part player on top end wages - no thanks.  If Man U were to pay part of his wages, maybe but why would they.

surely Houllier, having worked with the cream of French youth football for the last 3 years will have a chance of bringing in a few little gems from over there,
without having to rely on a past his best injury prone michael owen

If he could bring Yohann Gorcuff that would be exceptional.
