Would prefer someone who's been at the club before, like Staunton, rather than go for big nose. If he does get it I'll have to console myself with the fact he will no longer be on Sky.

I dont think K Mac will stay very long now. I dont think he should have been alowed to apply, cos it was just a token gesture from Randy. Now he is in the position we all know of from work, where we have applied for a job that we think we can do and the bosses have bought in someone from outside. You then think u have to move to get on.

Kev was the board's number one choice for the job, until results went against him. If we'd not been thumped by Newcastle, and even then if we'd got past Rapid, he'd be manager now.

I understand that Dave, but he showed with those two results and the dithering about applying  he was not ready for the job. Now, he will have it in his mind that he could do it and will feel disappointed that he did not get it. I just think Randy should have had a quiet word, promised him a bonus for the job he did when MON left and give him his old job/or a coaching job with the first team and save him the hassle of the interview.

But it wasn't a token gesture. They wanted him to have the job.

Why not just give it him then if they were so confident of his abilities? I really rate K Mac as a reserve team manager, I just dont think he has the ambition or nastiness in him to become a prem manager.

I think if Thompson is his assistant there's every chance he'll be using his contacts with Madrid to get some Real boys.
