Because of the way McInally couldn't stop scoring until Christmas, then couldn't do anything for the rest of the season there will always be a doubt that he gave up once he'd got a move sorted. -

McInally left Villa for Bayern Munich. Hardly the career downturn of someone past his best. Imagine if we'd have had him instead of Olney or Cascarino when we were challenging for the title in 89/90!

And...you'd said that we'd seen the best he had. We hadn't. He was still at his peak when we sold him, and did a decent job for Bayern Munich.
He left as soon as an offer from a "bigger" club came in - hence "Judas" - the topic of this thread.

But that team in 91 was really shit and need completly rebuilding,and Doug wasn't full of cash,so BFR realised he had to cash in on Platt,who at the time was the best player in England.
I think a real Judas is someone who doesn't give a monkeys when they're wearing the shirt,Platt did pretty much keep us up that season. I agree that he has become a bit of a knob in later years.
