What was the name of...
« on: September 04, 2010, 10:56:59 AM »
Help me out - what was the name of the pub down by the leisure centre? Great old fashioned place, huge open fire, three or four floors. Must have boarded up for  10-15 years now. Anyone have any memories of being in there early to mid 1990s? Is it my imagination or did they used to let away fans on the top floor?

My memories are detailed in Dave Woodhall's book 'Champions'.

I loved that pub.

I'm surprised, but glad, it hasn't been flattened, it cant have a preservation order or anything on it surely? Got some great memories of that place although not so pleasant was being smacked in the head by a bottle when Sheff Weds fans attacked it.
