Something that really touched me today.

There's one bloke I always talk to at the match. The thing we have most in common is our opinion of the Albion, although I do think he's a bit extreme towards them. I don't know his name, I only know him as Dave's brother. His brother, Dave, died about three years ago.

Anyway, I was talking to him today and he said it was his first match this season. "I ay bin well," he said. "I got lung cancer and they took it out three weeks ago. Me daughter said I wouldn't be back here before Christmas but I said I would." And he was.

His name is Peter (don't know his surname) and he sits in front of me in DE Lower.  A relative who had his ticket for the West Ham match told us he was poorly and it certainly was a surprise when he arrived today.  Lovely to see him - knew he must have been poorly to miss the opening match as I can't recall him missing one for donkeys years.
