"Boxer on the ropes" stuff from us at times - Everton have such a better balanced midfield and we don't half suffer for playing the almost completely unproductive Downing.

Still, nice to see a goal through the middle for a change and the result is probably all that matters today, hugely critical though I have always been of the way we play at home.

Carew proving again to be a useless outlet and what price Petrov (or Dunne?) to be on the pitch at the end of the game

Carew off please. Heskey would bring energy at least.

Or if Gabby is anywhere near fit put Ash back on the wing and bring Gabby on for Albrighton (who I like but has plenty to learn).

why, our midfield haven't got the ball and are defending too deep. You could put Messi there and he wouldn't get the ball.
What's Albrighton, Downing and Young doing, they aren't getting involved just chasing shadows.

How on earth we are ahead is beyond me.  Defense has been excellent, L Young especially.(full of guts and passion - John Carew take note you lazy knob)

Midfield though has been non existent.  Petrov just doesn't have the legs to cope with energetic midfielders.  Problem is though that with no signings to be made, we have no real alternative to Petrov.

That was a very fast 45 minutes.
Well done lads, we're battling and no letting them intimidate us. It was always going to be a tough game and it looks like we're up for it.
What a difference it is having your full backs on form, both Luke and especially Warnock have been superb.
It was probably a blessing losing Ireland before kick off. NRC has done well.

Here's hoping we can keep it up and get another.

andy gray is such a w*****R

Is that the guy with such gems as "Cahill!!!!".  I had the game streaming and blaring on the speakers as I was taking care of something in the other room when he suddenly just started yelling senseless things and saying nothing about what was going on during the game....

Ok im going to speculate that Randy has taken adivce from Keith Harris in the search for a new manager, probably a clear sign they dont anticipate appointing KM (contrary to SKY still insisting it is KM's to lose) what do you reckon?

Carew off for fonz. Simples.

Don't you mean for Gabby?  As i said earlier, if he's fit enough for the bench, he should be fit enough to start.
