Favourite Away Day and Why?
« on: August 27, 2010, 08:55:01 PM »
Just like to know whats your favourite ground to go to and what you always make the effort for? Mine personally is Wigan. 5k and all the pubs and no challenge from the home fans, oh and we always win!

Fulham was nice when I went, though we lost 3-1, the sunshine was out and the Villa packed the away stand with non-stop singing.

Goodison for me, it has provided what is probably my greatest moment as an Aston Villa fan.

I like us playing at West Brom. A proper derby atmosphere with healthy rivalry instead of vicious hatred. The games have a much longer history than anything with small heath. Ok you cant understand a word what their fans say if they are from the other side of the M5, but at least they arent a bunch of humourless knuckle dragging retards brought up in a bitter twisted atmopshere born out of a 100 years of winning f*** all. And it doesnt cost £48. And we nearly always win.

Agreed. It has everything, a good boozer close by, great walk to the ground and a really old school stadium.

Goodison, Highbury and Hillsborough for me.

The old Baseball ground as well, as it was one of the first 'away' games I ever went to.

Craven Cottage by a country mile.

Nods in the direction of Goodison (for the memories the stand was shit), Loftus Rd, Ayresome Park, City Ground, White Hart Lane, and others that will come back to me.

The Hawthorns- great memories of a couple of midweek league cup wins in the early eighties. I always loved Highbury too, I went there five times and we only lost once.(5-0 when Platt ended up in goal!)

I'm going Goodison Park as I've been twice and both times we've won in the last minute (Merson and Young) and Fulham although I've never seen us win there yet.

Newcastle. Great stadium, great location. Not great this year though...
