Well I have been searching for a possible 'BIG NAME' to replace Billy Wiz out the door, and have found three possible big names to replace him...

1. Roberto Di Matteo - WBA manager and 15 letters in his name!
2. Andy Hessenthaler - Gillingham manager and 16 letters in his name!
3. Paul Peschisolido - Burton Albion manager and 16 letters in his name!

A poor fourth is our Kev, with only 14 letters, compared to the other three not a very big name!

These are the biggest names in English football at present and I think need careful consideration!

I don't supose we could convince Guus Hidink to combine jobs? I mean how busy can you be as an International coach? He is still with Turkey isn't he? Surely we could convince him to resign even. Maybe he is Number five?  No probably not. sigh.

Oh I dunno - the current list is just so: not whelming.

I thought the same thing, particularly in an international year when there is no WC or Euros.  Hiddink could come in for 12-months and sort us out from a playing perspective.  He and K-Mac (or Southgate) could easily handle the role.

According Pete colley there were 4 , and now there's 2 and curbs and Sven not being considered now, he reckons it will be kmac but says the board were impressed by houllier.

East, I thought you were very confident it would be Houllier this am? Were you just going off press reports?

He said

General Krulak Here:

1. Back from my trip only to discover that Randy is a bum and lacks ambition, I am a liar and a shill, we've really spent no money on the Club, every possible Manager we have looked at is not wanted at the Club or is a lousy Manager or is an indication of no desire to move forward, that we passed on getting a Manager in order not to spend money during the transfer window, etc. etc. etc. And I am supposed to answer comments/questions that surround those issues??? There is no way I can do it...NOT because I don't have the answers but because no one would believe me...which makes coming on this site pretty much a waste of my time and yours.

His post was along the lines of 'yanks go home.'

He's a Bluenose.

I was going by breaking reports and dave woodhall saying houllier was what he was hearing too- may still be but it's not as clear as it looked.

The whole thing is quite amateurish really and I can't remember any job being as drawn out as this at any other club- I just hope we get a decision soon as it's almost a month now- and if it is kmac I will be hugely disappointed

If they wanted Kev there wouldn't be any reason not to announce it this afternoon, but that's obviously not going to happen now.

The General's comment that the potential manager would do due diligence and check fans sites is interesting.

Reading between the lines it would suggest that we have discussed one of the potential targets on here.  Not surprising really as we have discussed everyone here from Hiddink to Holloway, however it is interesting that it would cause comment from the General.

Lets face it all of the managers would have been unpopular at some point in their jobs so would be used to it.  The one exception being K-Mac...  Therefore my conspiracy theory is that the Board wanted K-Mac but he has been put off by the vitriol he has read here and elsewhere.   ...and if that's the case then he definitely is the wrong man.

If as now reported it's between those 2 then surely it has to be houllier! If kmac  gets the job I really fear how far we could slip back , surely the last 4 games have exposed his limitations at this level.

If you are Reading this keV please stick to coaching and let randy get an experienced manager!
