Worse? Possibly.

More boring?  No.

He makes Steve Davis sound like a raconteur.

Is this business about Curbishley actually from a reliable source,or just from a red top paper??

It was only a couple of weeks ago when all of us were shitting ourselves about Bradley when Talksport said he'd been offered the job and his odds were slashed by skybet. It doesnt seem to make any sense as no one in their right mind would even interview him for the job.

I'm hoping/ praying it was just out of courtesy, as he was so desperate for the job.

He was one of the very first to nail his colours to the mast, has Prem experience and played for the club (briefly and to not much effect it must be said). To an inexperienced board (on football matters) it might be match fitness, a dry run as it were. To hone their interviewing technique so as not to balls up later interviews with the serious contenders.

If they see him as the next logical step in the Villa plan, you'd have to question the validity of that plan.

You should always aim higher than what you have managed in previous campaigns, be that staff, managers or players.  Chances are you'll still fall a wee bit short. Like aiming for 4th and finishing 6th.

If you appoint a manager who has over a lengthy period delivered little more than mid-lower table you really are setting your stall out. It's not as if he is some bright young thing either, at the start of his career. Where you could possibly reason that he might improve with better resources available. He spent a fair whack at West Ham and delivered results and performances on a par with his work at Charlton.

Small Rodent is right , with a bit of tinkering we are not far off a really good team.

Ranieri!  And no, I've never been right!

*pro McLeish post*

Gotta say I agree with this, he'd be better than most although I'd have reservations about his style of football.
