Remember when Megson was announced as Bolton manager?  Their fans booed him before he's even taken charge for a game!  I could see the same thing happening if we appointed Curbs.

McLeish would be really funny and not out of the question as he's fallen out with the board over at the sty

Any one who says BIR-MIN-UM because they can't pronounce it properly should not get the job on that basis alone !!!

Good point, I'd forgotten about that. Very annoying.

I'm guessing that this is just another rumour like Moyes on Monday....hoping rather.

I'd take Klinsmann, Koeman, Sven and Houllier over him.

This must be one of the most protracted manager searches in football history?

I cant believe people want houllier!

Kmac or Curbishley been appointed will be like sedating us.

The only plus point about Curbis'ley (well if he's going to pronounce the name of our city incorrectly...) is that he isn't Alan Fucking Pardew and his Silly Bloody T-Shirts.

I don't want Houllier but if its a choice between the Frenchman, Curbishly and K Mac I'm afraid by process of elimination he's the only option!

If it is Curbishley then we may as well go the whole hog and appoint Andy Murray as head of PR.

NO. No. No.

I've been hoping for Sven. Not because he is fantastic (because he isn't) but because he seems as the best available/attainable alternative. He is a solid manager, an improvement on MON and very unlikely to be a complete disaster.

Hiddink would be fantastic (but, I fear, completely unrealistic). Jol would be very good (but seems also to an unlikely appointment).

Houllier is about on the same level as MON, but with a different profile.

Curbishley would be a step backwards.

Koeman and Klinsmann would be risky.

Why exactly do people want Houllier? Poor for Liverpool, poor for France as I remember. Curbishley is hardly inspiring, but I'd take him over Houllier.
I don't want either mind and it would be pretty depressing if that's the best we can get.

The worrying aspect of all this is that we don't seem that attractive a job to any managers of real quality. Unless of course  the board have something up their sleeve
