Randy wouldn't have to say a word if Curbishley was appointed manager - the message would be loud and clear enough.

Also, compared to the other potential candidates, he would be given very little time by the fans at Villa Park.

In fact, he would have to go on a winning run to try win most over and even at that there would still be a majority of doubters.

Was it he that sold us NRC from the Hammers out of interest? Or was it Pardew?

Curbishley would in my mind, be a white flag of surrender to ambition. Fight it out with Sunderland, Blackburn, Everton et al for a glimpse of Europe now and again.

Deflated.

The Curbishley link is really depressing,he's a yesterday man, even Doug overlooked him for the past two posts.

Hopefully his lack of charisma shone through during the interview and put Randy off.

Who was next to be interviewed ? It may as well be Glenn Roeder.

I feel another shit period coming in the clubs history ........well come january we can look forward to offloading some more players and getting some free transfers in as we battle Wolves for tenth ! Ok im getting a bit carried away now we still have a good squad but your right jimbo the message to us fans will definitely be loud and clear dont think too many half season  tickets will be sold at christmas if Curbs is the man ... I really thought they were going to gamble a bit this time id rather that than the boring shitty option ....Id actually rather Hoddle and his assistant eileen in than curbs !

Not sure I agree with you there to be honest. We'll be fighting it out with the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Tottenham and Man City for Europe - I don't hink the likes of Sunderland or Blackburn are going to come close to league finishes high enough for years.

The landscape of the league has changed quite a bit in the last 2/3 seasons and I don't think it's unreasonable to start considering ourselves part of the third tier (with Everton and Liverpool). The first at the moment would comprise Man Utd, Chelsea, the second Man City, SPurs and Arsenal.

This isn't an argument to excuse the potential appointment of someone like Curbishly, more a consideration of what Villa's ambitions can realistically be at the moment and over the next few years.

alan curbishley is the most uninspiring ****** in football. appointing him would be a statement of intent.

PROUD HISTORY, SHITE FUTURE.

Now, this is the sort of manager I was suggesting when saying I would rather give K Mac a chance.
Curbishley is no mug but he's a very limited and very boring individual. He would inspire absolutely nothing in me or, in all likelihood, the team. He would probably be the most "meh" appointment of my Villa supporting life.

I cant believe we would offer him the job. I have a hard time believing we've even interviewed him.

No thanks.

Curbishley and MacDonald would be equally poor and uninspiring appointments.  If that's the best Randy could do he'd be better off selling up and moving on.
