cant see how they can interview Moyes, without the permision of Everton.

The General has said we will not approach any managers still employed apparently.

If that is true, it is even more baffling that they are taking so long finding a new manager.

If mcleish wants the job he will have to let randy know pretty fast or miss the boat, having read comments from the blues board about him I'd say he must feel like walking out - seems a huge rift !

The generals words above taken out of context- he said we are considering current managers but he personally would have doubts about a man who would walk out on his club for more cash elsewhere, his opinion not the boards.

Personally I would be happy to see McLeish at Villa Park. He's done a good job at the Blues with a lot of average players and not huge resources.

Now would be the time to get him.

I thought Curbishley did a good job at Charlton and does not really deserve slagging off.
However, Graham Taylor's article does make sense, not surprisingly.

L'Equipe reporting that Villa have made contact with Koeman and that he is indeed interested...

They're probably just recycling the story last week when he said we'd made contact with him.

Agreed, and I don't think he did too badly at West Ham, did he? Certainly not my first choice, but I can see why he'd be considered. He's decent enough, and I think he likes his teams to play passing football. I'd be surprised if he got the job, though, and a little underwhelmed.

Agreed...why does it take over 3 weeks to interview Alan Curbishley?? Or anyone out of work for that matter? But particularly Curbishley.

More worrying is the rumour that Curbishley turned up to the interview with a V-neck jumper under his jacket to impress the boss.

I could live with curbs getting the job but definately not my choice, Sven or jurgen much better, but I would be horrified if kmac got it.

Curbs record as a manager is very good and he kept charlton in mid table for years - look at them now, also kept west ham up when it looked impossible, only worry is he has been out a long time now.

How about Ian Holloway? His teams play decent football, he's a popular man, his Chairman has gone...?

I'm just clutching at straws really.

Curbishley??!!...... A very mid table appointment. Would be a message of intent from lerner. I would prefer leaving kev in the post til the summer.

I'd be hugely underwhelmed and disappointed if terminally bland and banal Curbishley gets it.  For me it would smack of lack of ambition and be tantamount to settling for mid-table mediocrity. I'd much rather have Sven, KMac and even Bradley than Curbishley.  In fact I'd rather have practically anyone on the planet except perhaps Peter Reid, Bryan Robson and Gary Megson.

I would probably prefer to leave K-Mac in place for the season in the hope that an experienced top class manager becomes available rather than have Curbishley.
