Moyes is the favourite on Paddy Power at 7/2.

The same source is now saying we are 'pressing hard' for a manager who is in a 'fairly decent' job in the UK.

If Moyes has been approached he has to be considering this carefully. His stock is likely quite low amongst Everton fans because he hasn't won anything despite his challenges. How much more can you take of that year after year. I cannot believe investors continuously overlook the club. Even that Indian bloke wants to buy Blackburn. If he came to Villa he fits the model as depicted by the club in it's manager search. Knows the PL well, respected in the game, can obvously work within a budget, has developed talented players and has a keen eye for talent at home and abroad. It would be a very solid appointment indeed.

One look at the odds here:

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/aston-villa-specials/next-permanent-manager

tells the story, ie nobody has a fecking clue. Bradley drifting after being (ridiculously) the favourite for ages, Moyes out of absolutely nowhere today, KM back out to 4/1 ish.

It really is all over the place.

The Everton fans have at least as many criticisms of Moyes and we had with O'Neill.

He may well come in and click, but he could easily not do so.

Considering what he's done there on a limited budget, nevermind the alternative options, that would be a massive coup.

Not gonna happen though.

  Moyes/Jol/Hiddink for me.

Would'nt be over disappointed with Coyle/McLeish/Sven, or even Martinez, although he would be a gamble.

I think we are a club of a high enough standard for a manager to leave his current post to come to us.

I think we are an attractive proposition for many managers

Moyes has gone down from 33/1 to 7/2 in a couple of hours.

I had £5 on 33/1 earlier today.

I'm sure I've heard him on the radio lately explicitly saying he doesn't want the job and that he's happy at Everton.  If we got him I'd be pretty  amazed.

Well he's hardly going to come out and say that he wants to join a direct rival of Everton's, is he?

thing is, he's not going to get offered the Man U job or the like unless he can prove, he can do the business at another club...that could be a motivation for him, unless he's planning to stay there for his whole career.

It feels like Steve Bruce has been manager of Villa the last couple of years.

He did'nt say he did'nt want the job, he said he was loyal to Everton.

If i was a prospectice employer this statement would'nt have put me off, it implys he will do as Everton wish, if they are prepared to release him, then he is likely to leave.

He might feel after 5/6 yrs at Everton it is time for a change, and Everton and their fans might feel the same, after all they have a ready made replacement.

If Moyes came in he could work with Kev Mc both canny scotsmen but Kev has done a great job bringing the reserves on so wouldnt want to lose that, he has faith in the reserves to blood them in the 1st team.
