Watching his interview now on SS, he seems to be treating it like a job interview in itself.

Given that his own highlight so far  is getting to work with quality players on the training ground, I think that says it all about the role he should be taking at the club.

We will struggle all season if we give it tgo K Mac. Good coach but not a manager of a prem club.

To appoint K Mac would be an emotional choice, not a rational one. As Randy is without doubt a rational man, I don't think K Mac will be appointed. However, he should definitely be involved heavily in the first team squad.

Whatever, the answer is still NO!

Did I hear correct on motd2 that club have released statement that next Villa manager
will need to have 'Premiership' experience ?

Would rule out several names mentioned on here -

Would rule 'in' Gerard Houlier but more alarmingly Sven !!

The General has clarified it's experience of the Premier League, not necessarily management experience.

The General has clarified subsequently that Premiership experience doesn't necessarily mean Premiership managerial experience. So while it would appear to count out the likes of Koeman, Rijkaard and Bradley it does leave the door open for someone like Klinsmann, who I'd be pleased with.

Yes, and Brown said he was looking for a project - Project B6 is definately on his radar.

I'm sure he'd love the job. He's not getting it mind.

New poster, lifelong fan, first went 1965. Went theough the pain and the glory. Lived on Aston Lane as a kid, then Bromsgrove and now live in USA. I have no inside knowledge but I read the statement very carefully.

Here is a name everyone seems to have missed, that would fit the description. Would be an interesting appointment although he has a reputation for falling out with players easily. He is currently unemployed other than TV analysis and World cup bid role for Holland. I expect he will be at Bodymoor for the interview process as his resume fits the bill.

Ruud Gullit - Mr sexy football

Remember Randy was recently in Holland and he also has good links to LA Galaxy

Just off the top of my head

Natural song for the Holte End " Hey Ruud " to Hey Jude by the Beatles. What an anthem that would be !

Watching developments with interest

Christ, not Ruud Gullit!

Based on recent noise from B6, the top candidates would seem to me to be:

- Klinnsman (who I'm warming to)
- Martin Jol (my top choice, but don't think he'll come)
- Erikkson (almost the default option)
- Slaven Bilic (never quite got why so many rate him so highly. Unproven for me)
- Carlos Queiroz (interesting one)
- Houllier (no idea what he's doing now, but really wouldn't warm to this, and find his brand of football boring)

If we can't have Jol, I think I'd be tempted to take a chance with Klinsmann from that list, but it would be taking a risk. Maybe Eriksson a safer bet, even if he was keeping the seat warm. I'd be more inclined to go for Hitzfeld or Magath but they seem to have been ruled out.

SGE's Number 2, Tord Grip, is an ex-Villa player.  Well he turned out for the reserves a couple of times.

Alan Pardew  has just been sacked by southampton! You reckon he's called Randy to see if he's missed the deadline date to put is CV in?
LOL!!!
