I guess this doesn't really matter now but was speaking to a lad who works for Sky last night. He said that Mon went over a row about Ashley Young. Young apparently told Mon that he wanted to go to Spurs and Mon asked him if he could significantly increase his wages would he stay. Young said he would so Mon went to see Faulkner who said all the players would do the same if it was granted so refused. Five mins later Mon came back and resigned. I ve never met the lad before so can't say how reliable he is but seems very plausible. He also said Man City will this week swap Robhino for Ibrahimovic so I guess if that happens he is likely to be right?

Yes looking at the generals comments I think we can safely rule out kmac and Bradley- thank god for that!

Whoever it is I'm happy it's not kmac or bob Bradley.

Taken literally it also limits to managers past and present who know the PL, assuming league means PL, so no Klinsmann, Htizfeld, and so on
If you then use the winners analogy that limits even those past and present PL managers, few have been consistent winners. Houlier possibly, Tinker man even Moyes has not won anything, or Allardyce, Jewell, Jones, and so on.
Just a thought :)

Mirror website saying spurs faxed offer to villa yesterday of £15m plus one of either jenas , keane or bentley in exchange for ash young, they say they are awaiting a reply.

Post on this page says ash wants to go , If that's the case the only way he could go would be to force this issue, they also say spurs will offer him £70000 a week.

How would people feel if he went? I think I would be dissappointed that we lose what is seen to be one of our top players but on a  personal level Ash pisses me of with his attitude and his diving and dont get me started on his crosses. On reflection I don't think he has improved  in the last 2 years, is that coaching or ability. I always thought that the free role would be really good for him but does he need the discipline of that wide role?

Ibrahimovic is now at AC Milan, on loan for the season.

Surprised kmac seems to be very interested in applying for the job on his comments today on the official website-I think the generals comments pretty much rule him out of the running and the last week should have told kmac he is not the man we want.

I would love Villa to reply with a faxed copy of someones arse - Droopy used up all his Villa credit when he stuck two fingers up at the crowd. Young's not for sale now fuck off Tottenham - we'll swap Heskey for Crouch take it or leave it.

Strange then that Sky didn't reveal this as an exclusive or did I miss it? And funny how these stories etc are only surfacing now. Not shooting the messenger by the way, thank you for telling us!

Ha ha no problem! It may be utter bollocks to be fair but he seemed genuine enough! He works in the outside broadcast vans at games and does Villa a lot as he is local. The Inbrahimovic story is clearly not right so maybe what he said about Yound and Mon is incorrect too. Just thought I d mention it. I worked with Kevin Mac s brother for a few months earlier in the year and he said then that MOn would nt be here this season but i did nt take much notice!!

I hated Koeman as a kid but give him credit he's saying all the right things there.

Having someone with such a wealth of continental experience would be invaluable.

Ticks all the right boxes for me.

Not for me. All the clubs he has been at seem to have regressed.

Whoever this lad is he is full of shit.  Zlatan's already signed a season long loan for Milan.

All the noises from the club management seem to suggest that KMac won't be the one in the hot seat.  The players seem to keep bigging him up though, Luke Young and Petrov again saying they hope he decides he wants it

Good result today but I'm still not convinced he is the best man for the job - although he's doing well given the state of the team.  He could just be the best man available to steady the ship until the ideal man becomes available.

KMAC never looks comfortable in interviews.
Always looks like a young boy wearing a jumper his nan has made him, out of that itchy arse wool.
