Welcome to Premiership management KMac (albeit you are only standing in for a while)

It took some guts to be interviewed after such an inept performance from the players
you selected to represent Aston Villa -

You took some of the criticism 'naive selection' I believe you called it you probably
learned more today about management than 14 years looking after the 'stiffs' -

If body language was anyhting to go by I would anticipate Kevin is unlikely to
ask Randy to consider him for the post -

Which leaves the club where exactly ?

Presumably the club have received applications for the post, (no I haven't
applied this time) and possibly sounded out the availability of other individuals

I personally trust Randy Lerner to do what is best for the club but I sure wish
he would be decisive and do something, preferably whilst there is still time in
the transfer window to do some business

He didn't have a choice - from the manager is obliged to make himself available for interview after every game.

Someone from the club, not necessarily the manager.

Phelan / BBC / Fergiestrop.

Didn't John Gregory refuse to speak to the media [hard to imagine, I know] or let the players speak after a game once?

Agreed Eigentor on Sven. Not the popular choice, but if a more glamorous appointment is not happening, then a Sven, Kevin Mac combo would be the ideal solution with Sven able tgo bring a couple of players in. He likes a proper holding player, and is tactically fairly astute. City went wrong when Frank Sinatra basically told him he was on his way despite being 5th in the league or so at the time. Give him the job by Tuesday, and get it sorted. Oh and get Flamini while we are at it. We should be ashamed to be bullied by Barton and Nolan.
Agreed 100%.

McLeish if he were on the list - he's done more than a decent job at Birmingham -

Well there was no change today - it was Phelan interviewed on MOTD2 not Ferguson. The presenter Colin Murray made a little dig at him about it.

I've just watched Kevin MacDonald interview on Sky Sport News and, as I think others may have pointed out, he does seem to be talking as if the job is his if he wants it! He said something along the lines of 'I'll see how this week goes and then decide if it's what I want to do'.

Now, if that is the case then I think it is sightly worrying. I personally don't think he's the man for the job at all, but the idea that perhaps we are waiting to see what he decides implies quite strongly, I think, that he is the preferred candidate.

Someone on 606 yesterday said that there were rumours rife at the Newcastle game regarding Guus Hiddink taking over the managerial vacancy. Any thoughts on this?

Hiddink would be fantastic but highly unlikely.  He's one of the top 5 managers in the world imo so he'd be off to a Club with guarenteed Champs League football and cash to burn.

Realistically, I can't see him joining us at all.

Yeah, Fergie is famous for thinking all rules apply to him.
