You see, after today, I do think people will start to question... why do we need to go out and get a new manager after a performance like that from the Villa today? I know West Ham are an average team, but this is the same West Ham we had a bore scoreless draw last season. You know what, I think Randy should give Macdonald a trial run, see what he can prove before we feel the need to get a 'proper manager'.

After today, I'm sure Macdonald would like another bite at the cherry against Newcastle, question is, will Randy let him? Either way, I won't be too bothered which manager we have as long as we can consistently play like how we did today.

I actually do think that's a  potential great combination.

That'd be awesome if we could get Jol.

Yep. That would do me. Express reckons Jol has turned us down, but they don't quote him, or anyone else, to substantiate that...

Jol's my first choice, and I agree that KM would be great alongside him. Maybe with Sid also. Jol is big advocate of the type of football we saw today. It was beautiful to watch. As for Jol turning us down. Bollocks. He nearly joined an inferior team in Fulham a couple of weeks back. I bet he'd swim across from Holland to manage Villa. If Ajax allow us permission he won't turn down an opportunity as big as us.

Maccy D's Claret & Blue army all the way for me.

The football we saw today was better than a large majority of what we saw under MON, then again, it was against West Ham, probably shouldn't get too excited.

Seems to have the respect of the players. Something MON never quite seemed to posses - Too many favourites.

I wonder would Randy baulk at pay-offs to clubs with managers. Jol could be pricey.

Would love to see this, keeping continuity and tapping into Kev Mac's wealth of knowledge about the club, whuls also rewarding him with promotion. He is highly respected as a coach, so the very least he should be first team coach. Part of MON's failure in my opinion was keeping Robertson and Walford for too long (that said they are clearly very loyal too each other as they all jumped ship together. Would still love to know how that works, did MON resign for all of them?)

Did anyone see if Sven was asked about it in the build up to the Spurs City game on sky as he is there as a pundit. So definitely in the UK.

He wasn't asked about it.

He was after the game, though. He said that Villa "...are a big club, a huge club.." and that he would be very interested in the job. I'm beginning to suspect he might just get it, too.

EDIT: Actually, they're showing the conversation on SSN now, including where Sven points out he has had no contact with Villa.
