I love big Ron still my favorite Villa manager (of my lifetime) But those days have gone
Ron had a great team and I honestly believe if Andy Gray had stayed as his number 2 we would have won the league, a great character too apart from (that comment)

I originally voted for Moyes, but as he is staying at Everton, George Graham is available. He's an ex Villa player who has been a successful manager (even with Spuds).

George Graham has been out of management too long things have moved on, i think that was partly what was wrong with our previous manager. Has Robertson and co left yet?

It is interesting that although Jol is the clear Poll favourite, nothing has happened to suggest that choice is going to come about.

True, although neither has he ruled himself out like Moyes has.

This is the most important job Randy has has had since he came here and who we end up with will tell us everything about him and the direction the club is going in.

Did anyone see if Sven was asked about it in the build up to the Spurs City game on sky as he is there as a pundit. So definitely in the UK.

He wasn't asked about it.

To be fair Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho haven't ruled themselves out either but it doesn't make it more likely they'll join.

Um, Kevin MacDonald?

Seriously, the lads obviously want to play for him.

Yeah don't know about that, I'd like him in the first team set up but I don't know about manager. They were fantastic today though.

Can we reset the poll?
I want Kevin Mac.

Yes, it was one game but he did what we've all been asking and much much more.
He knows the players like no-one else. If we can replace Milner well, then this Aston Villa side can do anything.

There are inevitably going to be calls for MacDonald to get the job after today's game but I hope Randy will give himself a chance to see what other candidates are interested.

I'm not saying MacDonald is definitely not the answer but the instances of caretakers getting the job permanently and being successful are very very few.  There's a reason for that, which is that these people are generally far better coaches than they are managers.  It would be an absolutely massive step up for him.
