He's about as qualified as O’Neill. Won loads in Scotland, took a shite team to the top half of the table. I can't say I want the dour man either though.

One or two names that haven't appeared on the list, Keegan/Dalgleish/Roy Keane

With regards Sven, i just don't know. One minute the idea repulses me, the next i'm swaying towards the idea (damn you lot with your persuasive ways!!)

It's just down to which Sven we get. I think since the england job, he's just decided to pick the easy jobs which have allowed him to make shit loads of money for little work while keeping his ego stroked (normally by a fit woman 2/3 is age)

But, if Sven is serious about management again, whats to prove to himself and the premiership that he can do it then we could have a very astute, shrewd manager on our hands with enough contacts across the world to make MI6's most secret agents jealous.

Sven hasn't been serious about football management for years, in the sense that it's hardly a priority in his life, just a means to (a rather glorious) end.

The sad truth is that none of the candidates  are really any better than what we have just lost, and in most cases they're a good deal worse.

Sven as Director of Football to work on transfers / scouting... Kevin MacDonald as manager to work on tactics / training might be ok.

Surely nobody can argue we've fallen way behind other clubs in terms of our scouting network and transfer savvy?

What made me laugh the other day was whoever it was the other morning reporting from the papers on SSN, was saying that at 58, O'Neil has just one big job left in him really.
They were going on, that he'll take some time out and then revaluate after... In the next breath the guy was saying Sven was a prime candidate to take over.

Well at 58, if Martin is virtually past it, then sven is surely finished, the guy should be on a life support machine somewhere. Not still trying to get into managerial jobs in the premier league

I've often wondered when the press say a club has been ''inundated with CVs'' when there is a vacancy for a manager. Can you really see Sven and Paul Jewell tidying up their resumés on Microsoft Word before sending them off to some recruitment agency? On second thoughts, thats probably exactly what Paul Jewell has done.

After much reflection im going to say give Mcdonald a go Sid as his number 2, give it a month then decide. West Ham, Newcastle , Rapid Vienna and Everton is going to give us chance to see what he's made of, Plus he has total respect from everyone at VP. Youth especially.

I don't want Bradley, Southgate, Sven or Curbishley

We have fallen back in terms of scouting and contacts in the wider game. That's the best arguemnt for having somebody like Sven at the club in some capacity. What I wonder though is, is he still in the loop to the extent he would have been even 4 years ago?

Sven probably is now moving into that group of Managers that is loosing touch modern day players & agents, his club success was years ago.

Latest work- Mexico, Ivory Coast & Notts County.

Keegan & Dalglish fall into the same category.

Bob Bradley has to also come into this group - no experience whatsoever just American Soccer!!
