Quote from the Daily Mirror "Sven Goran Eriksson is so desperate for the Aston Villa job he is willing to lower his traditionally exorbitant salary demands."  Not even for national minimum wage Sven.

If Harry wants to manage Ashley ?? Why doesn't he apply............No I can't say it. Off to the naughty corner.

I'd have him.

As much as he is an asshole, I'd have Arry Boy at VP but alas we have no chance sadly

Me and a mate said the same thing. If there's one person who woud be ideal for the situation we're in right now, it's Redknapp.

I agree.   But who are the real available managers??

Maybe there is a need for a world manager datebase:

1.  Managers out of work and looking

2. Managers unhappy and looking for new job

3. Managers who be tempted to work for a "bigger club"

4.  Young and up and coming managers from around the world

5.  Curb and Southgate.

Get to work you web boffins...................

Yeah, I've always felt Redknapp has a real affection for us.

I'd rather give it to Allardyce.

I think I'd have to stop supporting the Villa if that happened. I genuinely dislike the man that much. Or maybe just wish for relegation. A chance to visit all those Championship grounds isn't that bad, really.

Reality is now hitting home that there appears to be a lack of choices for the job, the usual newspaper stories say dozens have applied but how many are credible?

Evening chaps. Newbie on here.  :) I'd like to give Kevin Mac a go, see how he gets on. He knows the club well, been here years now, knows all the players including the youngsters, who i think are going to be important. Few of us now are probably thinking we're gonna have a decent crack at getting into the top four next season, so, give him till January see how we're getting on. If we're doing OK results wise and more importantly the football is improving and we can see signs of another team coming together, then give him the rest of the season. He's got a great record with the stiffs and whilst i know its a massive leap from that to the first team, the only way we're ever gonna know if the bloke's good enough is to give him a go. Every great manager had to start somewhere and looking at all the names people are suggesting at the moment no one really is standing out for me.

You could well be right.   Lets see we play (not necessary the results)  over the next 3 games.

Well I've had a blue note on Hughes tonight at 14/1.  Any ideas on what I can spend my soon-to-be-collected £70 on?

Redknapp's always had a rapport with the Villa fans - did he ever give Trinity Road their 50p back?

He'd do well at the interview but his references from Portsmouth and Southampton might scupper it.
