I want to have a manager who is able to tactically out think his opponent. Beating Spain in 2009, something England didn't look close to doing was a great achievement for the US. They nearly went on to beat Brazil. Bradley isn't my first choice, but the one thing that's become apparent is that we have to work within set parameters and be a lot smarter as a club. If we can't outspend our opponents we need to find other ways to compete.

If you read the comments under that piece (which was dated yesterday by the way) the Yanks seem quite pleased that he's going, which is not a good sign.

Their federation were saying they wanted an overseas coach, which was probably curtains for BB. Can't say i'm too keen to see him at Villa.

but that could mean that he's TOO much of a tactician - any footballer who thinks he's bigger than the game will always hate a taskmaster tactician of a manager. that's why the current england lot hate fabio - well that and the fact that they're all thickos

Bradley has quit from the USA job

I don't like the sound of that at all.

I think it's the fans who are glad that he's going. One complained about him having his favourites, which sounds familiar.

US fans knowledge/opinions < Bradley's skills

To be fair if your managing the USA you don't have a lot of choice

Bradley wasn't going to be given a new contract anyway-not a cat in hells chance of him becoming villa boss- more chance of mon managing Argentina than Bradley managing villa!

Randy is a clever man , not a fool.

He was rumoured to be interested in the grossly unqualified Jurgen Klinsmann when he took over the club so you never know.

I agree, which is why I trust him to get the best available option. However, what we fear is that Bob Bradley is the best available option, as that would be a sad indictment of our club's position right now.

How could a man who has never managed or coached in Europe never mind England possibly be the best available option , I'd take big Sam, southgate or curbs ahead of bradley and that's saying something.

Sven , jurgen , jol or bilic would all be far better options.

Agreed. We'd switch from signing just Englishman, to signing only Americans! :) Okay maybe not. But BB would be a huge gamble. Might work, but likely it'll go arse over tit.

But what worries me is the American connection. It may be 2+2=5, but if we unveiled Bradley as the new boss, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

But the big thing still remains, that there's very few decent options available out there. Fuck.
