I don't mean to be too harsh....obviously City have moved the goalposts. It's his money and it's up to him how to spend it, but I cant help think that because of City's mega-billions, he is starting to think what's the point?I don't blame him, I just find it depressing.

I agree.

Could it be Sven as DoF and Bradley as coach then? With the fall back that Sven is very capable of advising and taking over if Bob is crap.

But if the board are trying to cut the wage bill, are they not adding to the problem by bringing in two people when one should do? Sven certainly wouldn't come cheap so u might as well have him as manager.
Hope it doesn't happen, I'm in the camp with everyone else who thinks this man has had his day.

Lerner said that we could not spend £30 million on a striker but cash was available to the Manager providing he sold players that were not in contention to play in the first team.

Except Wenger at managed in Europe, at a decent level too.

Bradley would be an absolute disaster, this has made me very worried.

Why do you think an 'absolute disaster', then?

Because it would show that our chairman was more interested in having his friends around the place, rather than pushing this club forward.

Thankfully, I don't think Bradley is in the running.

Alternatively he could be thinking that we're not going to beat them by battling for big names so rather than spending 65k a week on a tumbling bear we could buy 3-4 18-19 year olds who have enough about them to make it in a few years.  If we don't get there we sell at a profit and try again.

Money is a big thing but there's always an alternative, in this case to build the squad from the bottom up.  It takes time but with delf, delph, albrighton, clark, gardener, bannan, etc w've got a lot of talent to start with, we just need to mould it right.

Buying a Xavi/Iniesta that's been developed elsewhere costs millions, developing your own is pretty much free, and whilst they do have natural talent they both show that good coaching from an early age can turn good players into excellent players.

Still no Scolari option?  A proven winner with tactical and technical nous? Got to be worth considering.

It's a mix isnt it? Young, Milner, Delph and Davies were all bought with an eye on the future.

I agree that the purchases of Heskey, Petrov etc were flawed. I also question whether Friedel ahead of Given was wise, and why we were not in for Joe Hart. But MON did have a crack at young talent.

I read that one firm suspended bets on it being Sven - groan - but if they've suspended bets completely then I guess they either thinmk they know who it's going to be or they suspect some irregularity.

Thanks paulie.  I'd have checked myself but wouldn't have a clue what I was looking for.

Sven is evens favourite with PaddyPower.  He'd be even less than that if they thought somthing was done.

Davide Ballardini (ex Lazio?) is now being linked, currently without a job

By 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'. They suggest he is paid only 750K euros Per year and his contract expires next summer.
