Lot's of reasons why Bradley would be wrong.
No experience of club management in a proper league
No experience of English football
No experience of European football
Would not command the respect of the current players
Not a big enough name to attract players to the club
USA were hardly great to watch, tactically astute, or mega successful
It would be a decision based on "being American just like Randy" rather than a purely football decision.

Wrong on so many levels.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bob Bradley probably knows more about the PL than we do about him, to be honest.

The more I think about it, the more I think Sven is our best bet.

Proven track record at club level, very few can compare with.

His season at City proves he is still capable of it.

The media have made him into a sort of a joke figure in England because he 'only' managed to get the England team to the Q/F.
(Not a bad achievement compared to his predecessors).

Dunne and Ireland (if he arrives) both are familiar and flourished under him at City.

He handed Downing his England debut.

As we saw when he took over City, he has the contacts in the game to move quickly in the transfer market and buy quality.
Remember those heady days when Thaksin took over.

Moyes, Jol and Klinsmann aren't going to happen, so this just seems the most logical.

I fear it wont make much difference though...the owner no longer believes in us getting in the top 4.

I think Sven as well. Get him in with some sort of clause to review next Summer, he'll hold the fort and raise the gloom.

Then we can maybe try and get our number 1 man (Moyes?) next year and keep Sven sweet to use his scouting contacts.

Rubbish. Not wanting to pay big wages to players who aren't playing is not a signal Randy has no ambition to finish in the top 4 any more.

Not much to disagree with there. He needs to earn his spurs at a lower league club first, and acclimatise to the english game.

To be honest ive been on Wiki this morning and out of the likely's its svens record that holds the most weight. What he did with England at the time i thought wasnt enough, but looking at it now; he did very well with what he had.

He wasnt a push over at Man City either. Lets forget the notts county business though eh?

Jol would be someone id approach first, but if that isnt going to happen klinnsmann or sven would be ok.

Bradley is a risk i think.

at the end of the day Martin has left us scraping the barrel.

Am I the only Villa fan who would love to see Allardyce at VP ?

Dudley born, intimate knowledge of the Premier League, a background of being able to attract and play non Englisg players with fab technical ability.

What's not to like ( managerial wise) ? - Newcastle was always a hard challenge - way harder than Villa.

I certainly hope you are.

my main problem with Sven would be the style of play. Ok, he's no hoofball merchant like MON but he's a bit defensive

But if we ship out the likes of Sidwell, Davies, Beye & Heskey to follow Shorey we are going to need to replace them with better players on more or less the same money, so I don't see how we are capable of pushing on.

Our squad is still pretty small compared to our rivals.

I'd have O'Leary back before I'd give that fat, cynical, arrogant, whingeing, cheating, yam-yam cockstain as much as a desk at Villa Park.

I think Sven would be a solid appointment, as would Jol but I think the compo would make it unlikely. It's not a great list, is it?

I would rather have Sam Fox in charge.

Rubbish. Not wanting to pay big wages to players who aren't playing is not a signal Randy has no ambition to finish in the top 4 any more.

The hierarchy of the club have gone from saying that they would pay 20 (or was it 30) million for a player if he was the right one to Randy's statement
about where our new level is.
