Could it be Sven as DoF and Bradley as coach then? With the fall back that Sven is very capable of advising and taking over if Bob is crap.

Am I the only Villa fan who would love to see Allardyce at VP ?

Dudley born, intimate knowledge of the Premier League, a background of being able to attract and play non Englisg players with fab technical ability.

What's not to like ( managerial wise) ? - Newcastle was always a hard challenge - way harder than Villa.

Thers surely no way randy would be stupid enough to go for bob Bradley-total red herring in my eyes.

Surely randy will go for someone who has worked or played in the premiership, of which Sven, klinsmann, bilic and jol all qualify.

Bob Bradley wouldn't even keep us up- any of those 4 would keep us in the top 8 at worst!

This mornings Guardian suggests Randy wont be rushed into a decision.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/aug/12/aston-villa-martin-oneill-successor

Aston Villa are considering giving Kevin MacDonald an extended spell in charge to buy themselves some time to find a successor to Martin O'Neill.

Villa have been inundated with applications since O'Neill quit as manager on Monday but the club are determined not to be rushed into a decision and are now prepared to let MacDonald remain in post for a couple of weeks, possibly even longer.

MacDonald, the reserve-team manager, was given the job on a caretaker basis on Monday, when O'Neill handed in his resignation and caught everyone at Villa by surprise. Randy Lerner, the Villa chairman, flew into England the following morning to meet Paul Faulkner, the club's chief executive, to begin drawing up a shortlist and assessing the merits of those interested. However they have since come to the conclusion that the process could take some time.

Bob Bradley would be a Josef Venglos type risk. Respected for his work elsewhere, but  dose'nt  know the english game very well. It's a risk we can't afford to take.

This is what I think stands a good chance of happening, too, although it may not be Sven I suppose. I have to say, and I suspect I might be rather alone in this opinion, that I think that might just work. I believe Bradley is a very good coach, and, with a 'guiding hand' with regard to transfers/the general hurly-burly of Premier League football, might just be able to 'step up to the plate'.

It would be a risk, but if it happened I think we'd be just fine. Not the 'safest' option, but not the worst, either.

Don't want to see that useless sack of shit anywhere near Villa Park again, much less as manager of our great club.

I've nothing against giving him a chance but my cynical sidesays that it would be a convenient way to not have to spend any money on transfers.

If it is Bradley my biggest worry would be that he has no experience in the transfer market. It seems as though wheeling and dealing is now the order of the day at VP and I'm not sure he's the best man for that.

Will you cut it out? I thought you were on a wind up initially but that’s about the fifth time you have mentioned his name, do you not think that we could do just a little better than Fat Sam?
