I wouldn't mind Jol but reading what happened with Fulham he would probably be too expensive.  I would actually prefer we take a punt on Pellegrini his record is superb and was very unfairly treated at Madrid.

King Carlos could translate and he would have the knowledge to bring in some quality foreign players.  We desperately need some contential flair in the side.

Apologies if this name has been mentioned on here already, but what's Rijkaard up to these days?

Someone I know who works in the game threw up a name last night that intrigued me........Glenn Hoddle.
Say what you like about the controversial side of his life, the guy is a good coach and very well respected as so, and his article on how he would change the structure of the English game after the World Cup was one of the best things I've read.

I must have done something terrible in a former life if I'm going to have to suffer in this life, watching Hoddle and Eileen Drewery sitting in the dugout bench at Villa Park, spouting inarticulate mumbo-jumbo and performing witchcraft on Heskey at half time

The reducing wages has already started, with shorey now gone we must be at least 100k a week better off (than we were at the end of last season), once Milner goes that's closer to 140k, 1-2 more of the heskeys/sidwells will be enough to have that under control, particularly given the new sponsors.

Pretty much agree with all of your post Paul, but there is one slight flaw.
The problem is, no bugger wants any of our deadwood.
The simple fact is that they are on far too high salaries which no other club will pay, and the players themselves will not drop their wage demands.
I fear we will be stuck with a lot of the fringe players for some time yet.

Two or three of those players will be more than deadwood now the old manager has gone. NRC, Young & Davies are decent footballers, they were just ostracised.
Absolutley agree Dave, It'll be like 3 new signings.
Shame about the rest though (sidwell, Heskey, Beye)

It will, indeed, be interesting to see which of the 'deadwood' come up to the standard that was expected of them when they were purchased. My guess is, with a new manager coming in, we'll see the very best of everybody. Randy may yet see some kind of value for his money.

Exciting times.

Would it be racist to say 'No Irishmen need apply please'? I've had a belly full after the last two.
