How about Martinez from Wigan?

Sven, No thanks. It has to be Jol, most of the rest would be a step backwards.

Monkeyboy that is a very droll post.   The image of Klinsmann teaching Mr M how to dive made me laugh out loud.   I have voted for Jol because he is tough, knows the ropes and being Dutch is good with languages.   Zola made a very big impression on my younger son when they met earlier in the year and the only good thing about Curbishley is that I know where he lives having worked on the building of his house which I might add is about a four hour drive from VP.

If either Southgate or Sven get remotely near the job it is the hot bath and straight edge razor blade for me.

Hopefully the club will rule out some of those muppets straight away; Sven, Bradley & Curbishley for starters.

We have Mc Donald as an interim Manager no need to get another one but a Proven hungry Manager is essential.

I'd rather give macdonald an opportunity at it long term than have curbs or sven have it. Absolute joke

I can't see that we'd hire Curbishley, I can't see a single reason why we would.

No real outstanding candidate, I'd be intrigued to see what Southgate could do if he had an experienced man alongside him to guide him.  Southgate always struck me as a man who understood Villa and had the same ambition as the fans, was just badly advised and backed himself into a corner when he left, though he only voiced what every fan was thinking regarding our ambition.

As for the experienced man alongside him, how about the man who signed him for the Villa, the man whose heart belongs at Villa Park.  I would genuinely like to see Southgate and Brian Little given a year - we won't go down this year and if it isn't working out at the end of the season then we will have had a year to identify the manager we want to replace them.  If it does work out then so much the better - it won't have been a wasted season which is what is facing us right now.

The more I think of it, the more I think we should go for Eriksson.
