To all those calling for Jol. Forget it right now. He is not going to walk out on Ajax just before their 2nd match of the season and with a point still to prove after a disappointing campaign last year.

I was no huge MON fan, but the timing is frankly shocking and if there is only one way the club can go from here and that's back to the mediocrity from a few seasons ago. If the rumours of money restrictions are true, then how are we going to attract anyone to take us forward. Whatever way you spin it, the news is just frankly depressing.

If you believe MON was on a sell to buy policy, then it doesn't compare to Jol. Ajax are well skint and it's what nearly forced Jol to join Fulham. I think if Jol was approached and Ajax compensated, he'd be here in a shot.

Jol is not happy, but the season has now begun here and they're preparing for the home game on saturday, which I'm off to with my son. In fact I will eat my sons Ajax scarf is Jol is not there come saturday.
If Villa want to go Dutch than they should either approach Co Adriaanse or even make a cheeky offer to Van Marwijk.

But nor has Slaven Bilic who some people say is one of the best option.

And I would say that Bradley is a much better manager than Klinsmann who lots of people are suggesting.

Slaven Bilic  has a far greater knowledge of European football and is widely considered one of the best young managers in the world. Not saying he's my first choice, but he's surely on the shortlist.

We need to be more entertaining and not be overly pragmatic, so someone like Jol for me.

We shouldn't rush the appointment, that's for sure. The transfer window will be a write off no matter what because there's no time left for any incoming boss to really do much.

Thing is we can hope all we want for a good manager to come in and suddenly have us playing good football. But it doesn't work like that. We've a side built mainly on pace, power and high energy. We don't have, 2 or 3 players aside, the personal for pretty football.

I'd love us to play nice football, but it'll require 1-2 windows of business and any new manager to bring in players to suit.

It's gonna be a long season methinks!

No he doesn't, but i very much suspect he will be. Oh and there's not a sniff in the papers here about Jol leaving and frankly they should know better than the British ones.
The cold hard truth is that MON's timing is the worst possible timing there could be and it makes Lerner's job to find a suitable replacement an impossible task. AND Lerner knows full well that he needs to be seen to be proactive here, as the vultures will be circling, especially if we lose to West Ham
