I don't get the Bilic thing at all - let some other club take the risk.

I wouldn't be over the moon at Jol but of it keeps some shite Championship level manager from filling the vacancy then I'll welcome him with open arms.

But the only men that will kick us on and could maybe be turned for a roomfull of used notes are David Moyes and Guus Hiddink.

At this late stage, I wouldn't rush into appointing anyone. Kevin MacDonald has done an amazing and unheralded job with the reserves for years. He knows the club and the squad inside out, particularly the young players. I'd leave him in situ for the immediate future. I'm not suggesting he's the long term answer but given the timing of O'Neill's departure, I can't see any currently employed top manager walking out of his current club to take over at Villa Park.

The timing of this sucks when the managers were doing the merry go rounds earlier on.  Not much left in the "candy-shop".  As someone else has said that this is going to be a defining moment in RAL's stewardship of Villa;  as DW intimated on R5L, we dont want to go back to the roller-coaster era of Ellis/mgrs.  The next man has to have European pedigree to attract players for the Europa and in a short space of time (subject to cash availability from RAL).  MON has got us so far, but the next man has to take us to the next level with potentially a small spend budget.

Curbishley = Backwards step
Jol/Moyes = sideways
Klinsmann = potentially forward

Bob Bradley is an interesting one. No idea what his club career has been like but he's very highly thought of in football circles. I thought he'd end up at Fulham to be honest.
as I said, I've no idea what his club record is like.
A manager who has never dipped his toe in a transfer market before?

Nothing like the sort of manager we should be after.

Billic is a young and raw manager who gives a different style and approach as a football manager. He won't be so conservative like MON and he'd getting us playing some really nice and effective football which is easy on the eye. We need to change for sure, Billic would offer us a new type of drive and determination with new and fresh ideas which we need to try and take us forward; and plus, look at all the Croatian talent around at the moment... we wan a striker, hello Mladen Petric?

In milk or white wine?

Either way it can probably wait until we've got a new manager sorted.

Isn't Van Gaal virtual royalty in Munich at the moment? Hitzfeld could work, I forgot about him. And Hiddink's contract with Turkey only started last week!

Bilic as a coach is pretty naive and he's completely unproven in club football. That's why he's not worth the risk for me. And as for us signing Petric just because his ex-national team coach is in charge of us? I think his club would have something to say about that as well.
