I dont see how any one can pre-judge the Board until after the appointment, If it means sticking with KMac because the candidates available are not suitable then so be it

If the Board have done 50% of what General K has said they are they will have plenty of credible alternatives.

Like who for instance.

You're not suggesting Kevin MacDonald is the only credible candidate?

KMac is not the answer, hopefully Randy has noted this, we were very lucky on Sunday.
Will not be impressed if he is appointed, yes he might be at the club 15 years and the players think he's brilliant, but that isn't enough. We all saw what happened last Sunday and Thurday, the team look they could fall appart at any moment.
If Randy gambles on this he will put the club back a year or two, will Ashley Young stick around when he is in a midtable side?
We need to get someone in to motivate the team, that can pit his wits against Ferguson, Wenger and Anchelotti and who ever else. He has been fine as caretaker, he has had no real pressure on him, he has been thrust into this position through circumstance. The pressure of being the gaffer and all that goes with it is different to being a reserve team coach or caretaker, he'll have dressing room ego's and that other stuff to deal with, experience helps you to get through that.

If O'Neill had left us early in the summer would we be happy with KMac?
Randy cannot take the easy way out on this.

Kmac has been fortunate with the fixtures he's had and still done appallingly since west ham- we were outclassed by an Austrian league side and thrashed 6-0 by a promoted team , and then totally outplayed and outclassed at home to everton- I'm sure randy will have noted these displays and seen this man is nowhere near good enough for the job.

A great coach and inspiration to young players , and he deserves a pay rise for his efforts but a manager - no way!

We were not outclassed by Vienna, that's a ridiculous comment. We lost because we made some dreadfull defensive blunders, not because we were outplayed. We then battled extremely well to earn a victoty against Everton.

Outclassed I accept was too strong a word but our performances in both legs left a lot to be desired mainly due to the team selections of k mac- the selection on Sunday was aided by reo coker coming in at the last minute but we were totally outplayed by them- yes we battled hard, but a good manager would need more than a team who battles.

I respect kmac as a coach but I see nothing to suggest he will be a good manager- I don't think from the generals comments that he is really anything more than a contender, and cannot see the board choosing him.

"Big Ron Atkinson seen entering the Doug Ellis entrance at Villa Park for talks with Randy Lerner over becoming Villa manager again, on a short term contract," says Paul Derrigan.
 (Telegraph)

What?  Ok Let's debate this one shall we?

He wasn't even Chelsea manager when he made that infamous remark about Desailly.
God knows what he'd call Reo Coker after yet another of his misplaced passes.
He'd probably don a white sheet and stick a burning cross in the centre circle.

This is obviously rubbish - Big Ron would never use the Doug Ellis entrance. Possibly if he was employed as some sort of advisor for Kevin Mac might have an ounce of truth in it.

If there is any truth to Ron being there at all, which I highly doubt, it would be in an advisory role only.

OK. Let's take it with a pinch etc. But think about the guidence he could offer for Kev Mac.

er.. no you are probably right given the character, he would simply cause more shit than a large herd of pachyderms.

Strange though. It's a nice thought. Well it brought a smile anyway.
