He said "this referee, this young man, is top drawer tonight" - about a minute after he'd said he'd missed a clear penalty for Real.
And apparently Bale going over a minute later, Ramos not being booked was "the worst decision he's made tonight".

It's the weirdest commentating performance I've ever heard.

It's very irritating. The 'we' references are very irritating. He's also said 'got to stay on your feet' literally about 15 times.

stayonyourfeet is also trending on twitter.

Incidentally, maybe it's Ray Wilkins corrupting my mind but Spurs have defended very well for the most part.

Mansfield two up against Southport. Good news for Dave Cooper, bad news for Villastagmariner.

Jamie Redknapp joins Wilkins in the insanity corner.

"If Lennon had been on the field he'd have been picking up Adebayor instead of Jenas and Madrid might not have scored"

That'll be 5ft 5 Aaron Lennon up against 6ft 4 Emmanuel Adebayor then?

TheBig_Sam

Shitting myself. If anyone at Sky finds out I gave Ray Wilkins a bag of shrooms to relax him for his commentary gig in Madrid, I'm fucked.

I have skimmed this thread, I shouldn't have. Suffice to say, fuck off Spurs! I hope you lose. By a lot. Wankers.

Hoddle joins the insanity, Spurs were 4-0 down to Inter with 10 men and brought it back to 4-3 and then knocked them out in London. Nope Glenn they are in another quarter final tonight.

I'm quite enjoying Wilkins' mentalist outbursts!

Just hope they set up a decent second leg really, not too bothered who wins.

Would like to see Spurs lose heavily though. teehee.
