Could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time but i reckon he'll be England captain in 4 years time, probably playing for the mancs or Arsenal.......*spits*

He's a good solid defender but techinically he's not good enough to play for those teams imo. They need ball players.

I would say that technically he's the best English centre half, it's only his positioning which may hold him back.

The sale of Cahill was an act of gross negligence by MON
Really depressing

I know just think we could have Cahill and Clark as a defensive pair right now with a back up of Cuellar and Baker

Whats worse is you look at how much MON spent on Average CBs and its frightening, real shame, I like Cahill as he always looks like he's got a goal in him on top of his developing defensive duties

For me, that was MON's biggest fault. Not specifically the cahill/knight debacle but the fact that he'd prefer experienced pros who presumably require less coaching/supervision but cost more rather that trusting the youth.

Fuck me. Another oh woe is us because we sold Gary fucking Cahill aka Franco Baresi and Franz Beckenbauer all rolled into one.

Also, are you ever going to write anything remotely positive on here? I imagine that you sit in the dark, rocking back and forth with a rusty blade to your wrist whenever you think of Villa?

Cahill is a better centre half than any of the centre halves that are in our squad right now.

Wanted to leave cos he wasn't getting a look-in while MON trusted in the same eleven each week.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I don't think Cahill is as good as some of you make him out. There are no decent English CB's around so it's a case of one eyed man king in the land of blind.

He's good. How good remains to be seen but i know some of the clubs who are rumoured to be in for him won't be coming in for Dunne, Collins, Knight, Davies as altenatives

He's good and bags a few goals too. Same with ridgwell on the goal front, with that pair, they probably offset their glitches with goals scored between them
