Carew is like Rambo, fighting everybody that gets in his way and Dunne takes out three in one go.

it's incredible how strong Carew actually is. He just tosses defenders out of his path. He looks in fine form, so we can only hope he can stay in shape. We can't expect him to play all season which is why a new forward is a must in this window.

No shoot-out, just the ridiculously over-the-top presentation.

Well look on the bright side, it could have been worse. We kept them out for the last 35 minutes.

He is. I think he's only 22 as well. He's already been called up for the Brazilian squad and you can just see him having a great career wherever he ends up.

Pre-season, not our full team, great opposition, whatever. That was stereotypically poor. Many of us who complain about the way we're covered in the press will find it hard to complain about anything they say about us with that sort of stylistic and technical inadequacy on display. The whole thing's just so joyless.

Presumably we'll play our first eleven against Valencia?

Really want us to stop playing our version of 4-4-2, even if it takes some adjusting and half a season to get it right.

minus Silva and Villa. They're not what they once were.

Let's not get too carried away by this everyone. We have things to work on. We battered Inter Milan a couple of seasons ago at Villa Park, which was no more important or meaningful than tonight. Man U lost to Kansas City recently, and Spurs to Villareal. It doesn't mean anything other than there are things to work on for all teams in pre-season.

Well Curtis Davies has just been presented with a big triangle, so it wasn't completely fruitless.
