Carew isn't mobile enough anymore to play there, and Gabby is vital to our style of play IMO.

I'd still keep him as an impact sub for now, with the odd run here and there.

Keep Him? He deserves to start, along with Albrighton he's been the our best player this pre-season.

Don't disagree, but Heskey was on fire last pre-season IIRC.

Albrighton was excellent last pre-season as well.

Was it really THAT much of a youth team for Feyenoord?

Yup, apart from the 42 year old goalkeeper and the left back.

I quite like Downing as a player, but he is totally one footed. A professional earning 30K plus a week and all he can use is his left, ludicrous.

I don't remember anybody mentioning the Feyenoord U19 thing at all last night. It's come as a complete surprise to me.

That's really quite a staggering miss by Sidwell. I mean, I know it's on the turn and everything, but to get it that far over he's got to have been trying.

I think Downing's been pretty good actually. Not amazing, but decent.

Carew is like Rambo, fighting everybody that gets in his way and Dunne takes out three in one go.

Carew's looked proper sharp this pre-season. Let's hope it's not just a passing fad.
