and why 4-4-2 is dead

Remind me again how Inter won the Champion's League?

I'm failing to see, yet again, the worth in persisting with Heskey. His main strength, if it can be described as such, is meant to be the hassle he gives defenders. He hasn't done that and his nonexistent pace is embarassing.

They've fouled him about 20 times in the first half. So he is doing that job. Heskey is far from the main person to be blaming for this poor performance.

You can't blame him, but only in the sense that he's anonymous.

sigh... did I miss spurs outplaying us last season then as well. oh forget they were 40 points ahead of us.Not

They were better than us over the course of the season and finished in the CL places, we didn't.

Also - and I find the idea of Spurs doing anything in the CL about as appealing as having molten lead injected into my eye sockets - their brand of football has more of a chance of doing something in that competition than our horrible, 1980s nonsense.

They are a different class to us to be honest. I know this is a friendly tournament but does anyone really think we could hold our own in the champions league if we had qualified?

something tells me Spurs are about to find out the same thing

i dont they have a manager who isnt stuck in 70's thinking is is Cloughie,

plus they played us off the park last season home and away!

they did? I can't remember them beating us. I know this is pretty poor, but didn't Spurs just lose 4-1 at home to Villareal? A team that finished 7th in La Liga. At least Benfica won the Portugese league last year.

Inter? They played 4-3-3, with Eto'o and Pandev wide of Milito, Sneijder on the number 10 role and two defensive midfielders .

Why? ;-)

That was genuine question. I thought they played Eto and Mijlito up front and would you say Spain played most  games with 2 (Villa & Torres) up?

Heskey looks sharp and fit.

Sidwell and Delfouneso haven't touched the ball have they?

The defending this pre-season has been piss poor.
