I'm willing to give Downing a bit more time but I will probably lose my patience in January if he doesn't shape up by then. I'm sure there is a player in there somewhere. Generally if you look at a player to make mistakes you will see them as Somniloquism said Ash has given the ball away too.

I still think MoN will play 4-4-2 in the first game but wouldn't be too unhappy if he did I think it will work well. It's good to hear Reo is getting stuck in and playing well. I'm not his biggest fan but I think if he stays we will be a very good squad player to have around.

As Chris says it's only a friendly. We don't know how players and formations will perform or even which will be used until two weeks time.

Downing in with a great chance one on one but over-ran the ball....
saw that,  wanker

I wonder how many times Ash has lost the ball.

Some people just want to see some of our players fail.
i dont want to see downing fail, its just obvious that he will, this is our most expensive plkayer ever and he is cack

How is the £10m that we spent on Downing more than the £12m we spent on Milner?
we spent 12.5 on downing, havent seen the 20mil bid for downing either. and what do you reckon we would get for downing?

No we didn't. He cost £10m with a potential £2m in add-ons.

Unless O'Neill doesn't know what he spent. Because he says we spent £10m.

I'm pretty sure it was £10m up front and then a bit extra for appearences.

Aston Villa

Following Middlesbrough's relegation, Downing signed a four-year contract with Aston Villa, becoming Martin O'Neill's first signing of the 2009 Summer transfer window for a fee of £10 million with an extra £2 million to be paid depending on appearances.

Is anyoneelse's stream showing Giovanni Van Bronkhorst getting substituted?

I know it might be due to the Dutch doing well in the World Cup but I cannot think of many English/British players that would command such universal respect.

Maybe Giggs.

Lot of changes at half time - Sidwell, Heskey, Davies, Clark and Carew on amongst others (bit difficult to see on my small feed)

Probably not with my eyesight. Is that Lichaj at right back now?

I was hoping to see a bit more smut in the dutch advert break

You're on the internet and you're hoping for smut in the advert break !?!

I know that you're only a couple of clicks away from a pic of what looks like a bear giving a blowjob !!

Just dissapointed in the Dutch really. They always had loads of filthy adverts from Holland on Tarrant On TV
