It's the away shirt for me this time around -

I have sympathy with staff at Villa Village.......was in there this morning deciding on whether to purchase purple tee shirt or polo
for the Dublin weekend .........majority of potential customers were enquiring about the new kit and it's availability and walking out with nothing

Some background to the shirt designs on the website. Really intertesting about the history bits including the check pattern matching the Holte Flag and Bartons Arms tiling. Also cant wait to see the "Pride of Birmingham" on the inside of the badge against the heart !

They look poor quality to me. I'm hoping the players were all given a size too big as the cut and style of them is poor if not.

Good to see that they're (well Nike) are starting to recycle the plastic bottles and turn them into fabric.

It's win v win as far as I can see.

I love the new kit, ça va sans dire, it goes without saying, apart from the awful claret socks (we are Aston Villa, we have sky blue socks).

First of all, the design is peculiar, classy and unusual and the claret and blue checks recall  the moquette of our changing room.

Secondarily, the template is not the standard template of the other Nike kits , but it's conceived exclusively for us, the Aston Villa FC, so I dare to say this is the first outstanding Nike kit in years. . .

Still undecided on both kits, think the home looks the best ( if only that sponsor tag line was missing) My only concern though is that all my nike shirts I own 5 Villa and 1 Barcelona, do not have a single 'skeg' or pull in the material, which you get on cheap material if you catch them on something rough (asics kits were a nightmare). Having seen the new Man Utd shirt in my local sports shop window covered in skegs/pulls, this plastic bottle recycling rubbish theory has clearly made the material pretty poor. If I spend £50 and pick my little daughter up and her shoes skeg my shirt, I will not be impressed.

I haven't posted on here for a while but I felt i had to state my disappointment with the new kits purely because, according to someone on footballshirtculture.com,  they appear to be a rehash of RC lens kits from 08/09 - see http://i40.servimg.com/u/f40/11/90/56/54/maillo11.jpg

That to me is really lazy by nike and an affront to aston villa.  Shame on them

I think it's an ok strip although I'm not so keen on the checks on the socks. I'm a bit suprised at the strength of some of the negative reaction as they are all a sight better than some of the abominations we've had over the years.
