Am I right in thinking this book only deals with a specific period in Villa's history - late 60s/early 70s?

It struck me that I've never actually read a definitive history of Aston Villa, so I looked on Amazon, to see if anyone had written one.  I found this by the "official Villa historian" John Lerwill:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chronicles-1874-1924-Limited-Edition-Lerwill/dp/B007K7XTC2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404123393&sr=8-1&keywords=Aston+Villa+Chronicles

I don't know if it's any good, but it is expensive.  There must surely be a market for a reasonable/normal priced book on the subject.  Every Villa fan who could read would get one for their birthday/Christmas.

Or perhaps they'd just end up in "The Works"...

Got mine from The Works in New St. a couple of years ago for a Tenner.
It's two massive volumes and not what you could call light reading, but very interesting nonetheless if you're interested in the minutiae of the clubs history.
