I have a copy in my downstairs bog. Good read.
I still have a few pages of "THE WORLD TO PLAY FOR" in my downstairs bog.

Might one gently inquire what reading materials you gentlemen have in your upstairs bogs?
Bloody rich toffs. We just dig a hole in the garden.
Strange place to keep your books ...

Looks like there's a couple of copies of this on Amazon - one at £59.95 and another at a mere £999 (plus postage of course)!

A reminder to anyone who may be looking as to the value of, and demand for, a reprint.

Point out to any potential publishers that it would sell shedloads.

I would definitely like a copy of my own. Is this something the club could be approached about or would be willing to support?

The sad reality is it probably wouldn't sell shedloads. Who apart from a (relatively) small amount of Villa fans and the very occasional fan of another club would buy it? If it was a guaranteed money maker it would have been reprinted by now.

It would sell enough to be viable.

It possibly would, depending on who owns the rights etc. Which is different to it definitely selling shedloads though. If it was a nailed on money maker someone would have re-published it by now as no publisher is going to turn down profit.
I'd love to see it back in print as I think it is a great book, but am also think it is very much a niche market that will want to buy it.

The problem has been that the previous publisher retired and wasn't bothered about it being reprinted. The amounts that second-hand copies go for is testament to the demand that's there.

If they sell at that price. There is a big difference between asking a high price and getting it. Especially on books. I should know, i've been selling the things for over 20 years. There's been a copy floating on ebay for £60 for ages without being bought, as an example.
