Watching the World Cup shocking moments programme this week made me wonder If the makers did a similar type compilation on Villa, what moments you think they'd include.

This could be a depressing thread.

Enckleman vs Blose
Sorensen v Blose
Parker v Norwich - missed sitter
Angel v Spurszzz - own goal, missed penalty and kicked flag onto ball trying to take a quick corner causing it to go out for a goal kick
Mountfield v Norwich - own goals (twice)
Balaban - £6 million for err...
Doncaster 3 Villa 0 ** shudders**

That's enough for me. I'm off to have a bit of a cry.

I don't quite think that we would have O'Leary on the show like they did on the World Cup one... Perhaps though he'd be responsible for a few though.

Lets start with an easy one: Hodge's backpass.

0-5 against Forest in the 80s with Trevor Christie taking us apart.

Losing 4-1 to Coventry at home in the FA Cup.

It's still the only game I've ever left early (when the 4th went in).

In fact, as the 4th went in, I went to throw my copy of H&V off the upper tier of the Holte (I was a few rows back from the front) in anger. However, I'd failed to throw it with the spine facing forward and so all that happened is that it opened, flapped about a bit and went about one row forward. I stormed off and left.

Wasn't that a league game? I think it's their only league win at VP. The FA Cup was 1-0 when Bosnich made a wonder save and I think Byfield was denied what looked a nail on penalty (I only remember seeing it at the game as it's one of many matches i've made a point of never ever seeing again) when one of theirs blocked a cross with his hand?

I could of course be totally wrong as my memory is shite these days!

0-5 v Bradford in front of 4K
Chris Nicholl "scoring" all 4 in a 2-2 draw.
4-1 up v Leicester with 10 mins to go and drawing 4-4.
Ugo's debut.
Defending league champions starting their defence of the title with a 1-0 home defeatto newly promoted Notts Co. (Regularly losing to Notts Co, even though they were truly shite).
The Champions of Europe being beaten on the opening day of the season 3-1 by a shit Sunderland side. Followed a few days later with a 5-0 twatting at Everton. Surely the worst 2 results by any club in it's first 2 competitive games after winning the European Cup.

Was that the 6-0 in '86 when we waved to Cloughie and he waved back? And we started celebrating their goals?

Or is my memory really worse than I thought?

you are indeed correct, Gary Breen blocked the ball with his hand about 10 foot in the air and then rolled around on the floor holding his face, Moldovan scored for them after a great bit of skill from George the legend

Cheers Luke, at least I know I remember some things! Although all I do actually remember is the handball and the Bosnich save. And leaving VP well and truly fecked off.

I also think that the 4-1 game was the last time any club in the top flight started the game with 11 English players.
