How are the club doing against the 5 year plan General ?

5.  For those fans who are not renewing their season tickets:  I am truly sorry that the Club has disappointed you to the extent you are not renewing.  There is not much more I can say.

I don't think in a lot of cases it's the club that's changed so much as football in general.

That is what I have also been trying to say. It is not so much about Randy, the General or even MON. There is a detachment for us oldies-and a few not so old, that an important part of the game has changed and become more remote from the individual fan.
Or maybe we just can't 'get it up' anymore when it comes to our first love!

2.  Risso:  I am not sure what can be done to improve our home showing.  I do NOT think the home form can be laid strictly at the feet of our Manager.  It may be easy to do so and may make folks feel better but I think it is an easy way out.

He picks the team, and buys the players, and sets out the tactics. He is fully responsible for the way we play our football at home and away. He has got one right. The other is some of the most frustrating football I have witnessed for a long time, with some of the least invention. I have got a season ticket for next season as I will support Villa whatever economy allowing, but the manager is responsible for results.

Something weird has changed since Randy took over, and its effected supporters in very different ways.

Too right. The amount of them who tell us we should shut up and be grateful is reaching epidemic proportions.

It has certainly affected the people who used to tell us that when Ellis was in charge.

1.  Percy:  Who is telling you to "shut up."?  Certainly not me...and certainly not folks on this site.  My sense is that this site is very open to ALL opinions.  The fact that someone doesn't have the same opinion as you do does not mean you have to shut up.  Just recognize the differences.

2.  ozzjim:  My point is simply that the Manager does not put on boots and play on the Pitch.  The players have to execute.  No different in any sport!!!  The Cleveland Cavaliers have a superb Manager and the best basketball player in the world but are losing to the Celtics...at some point in time, the players need to execute.  If they are inconsistent, that should not be laid totally at the feet of the Manager.

3.  Tim the Villan:  I will take another stab at this.  We are doing very well against the 5 year plan!!

4. I thought Randy's press conference was very well done.  He put out some critical information and was totally up front.

2. Champions League football and Barry: Sooooo? If you believe he has a point, you should be happy for him if he leaves. I believe, if I am not mistaken, that one of the goals of the 5 year plan was CL football. Let me see if I understand...you don't think we will make it???? OK. Good on you. That means I won't have to hear your moaning because you have already made up your mind.

I ask because we are, what, 4 years into the 5 year plan come the start of next season.

All have read so far have been confirmation about MON (brilliant) but would like to hear more of what was said, particuarly on plans for the ground and player investment.
