that's incredible after how much barca spent on him... just 1 year ago. i'm completely baffled at why barca have done this, but as you said it leaves huntelaar even more available (though i don't think we'll buy him).

btw, what do people on heroes and villans think of kalinic and rodallega? i really rate both players, both strong, young and good finishers and if we can't sign huntelaar or someone of his calibre i think we should make a late attempt to sign either one.

I don't know about that. They wanted Eto'o out anyway, regardless of anything else due to the amount of trouble he was causing. They also wanted a target man to give them a different option as they thought Pedro could do Eto'o's job without the hassle.

Maybe they should have gone for Drogba, Milito or Torres as that target man instead of Ibrahimovic, but the logic behind the deal was relatively sound.

Alright, maybe it wasn't relatively sound. But it wasn't completely batshit mental.

The logic may have been sound, but the figures involved were mental. I honestly thought it was a misprint when I first read it.

Anybody else listened to Kevin Mac's post match interview on BBC where he says re tranfers that he  has made a few recommendations but doesn't know whether they will be acted upon? Perhaps we shouldn't give up hope too soon!
