All you hear is reduce the wage bill, reduce the wage bill but the club when MON was there and in the 2 weeks since has done nothing to reduce it.......If they wanted to reduce the wage bill then they should transfer list some of the players they think are surplus

Still ten days left of the window.

I'd say it's quite likely that any of the high earners not sold by that point will be sent out on loan. I think we'll see a mad rush in the last 2-3 days. And I could be wrong, but loans can still be done outside of the window to Championship sides.

Either way, I wouldn't be hugely concerned.

This would be a great deal. I guess his wages are pretty high butu he's a cracking player.

Diarra would be perfect even though (I suspect) he's a bit of arsehole.

I like us always being linked with really good players at top clubs in Europe... it's just a shame we never actually sign any of them. Diarra for £8 million would be a steal, that's if we can get to him first before anyone else does.

Diarra is very good, I still can't see anyone coming in until the wage bill is slashed

Since Fonz came on the seen I've been disapointed by him he hasn't developed anymore. Resently I feel to the extent as though he may have gone backwards. If Heskey was to leave I like us to get a big name play like Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for 8million rising to 13 million on performances. Don't think he want's to come to England tho.

He's not really had any chances to develop in the last 18 months though has he? The odd cup game here and there (which he's scored goals in) is hardly going to give him a massive education. He needs a run of games before he'll get any better.

Just wacthing MOTD now... once again, even though West Ham are awful Scott Parker seems to be very good... again. If we can't sign a 'name' from Europe I do honestly think we should put a bid in for him and save him from eternal doom with the demon dildo and his lap goat at the helm.

Heskey has three years left? Surely not, he'd be pushing 36 at the end of his contract...

Signed age 31 on a 3.5 year contract.

How much use we thought we'd be getting out of a 33 or 34 year old Emile is beyond me.
That's almost £11m in wages. Good business.

You can see the rationale of Doug-enomics when you see that the total contact cost of Heskey would be about £15M although his original transfer fee was only £3M. In many ways, Doug was correct about football financing, as the transfer fee can just be the start of a huge expense.

If the old guy had still been in charge and was demanding that MON reduce the wage bill, this site would have been in uproar.

What was it Doug use to say? An apple well bought is an apple half sold?
I'm sure he'd be able to come up with some fruit-related comment in regard to Heskey.

Not fruit related, but my comment on Heskey is thus - he is a condom on the prick of progress.

West Ham are going to make a £2.5m bid for Luke Young. Hopefully he'll stay

Hard to say.

You'd like to think so, but by all accounts he was set to move back down to the Smoke this summer. Bought a house et.c

If he's mentally already back 'home' having made the decision on the back of his limited game time under MON, he might already be too far down that road to go back on his word to his family and so forth.

From a footballing point of view he's better off here.

And at £2.5 million West Ham can get facked.

2.5 million quid?? They can go treat themselves to a shuddering orgasm with one of Sully's toys

I may be way off base here, but does anyone else think K-Mac may not rate the Fonz?  I just thought it was peculiar that he put Weimann on ahead of him against West Ham and didn't start him in Vienna, which most of us expected him to do.

Really been asking the same question. Mc knows better than anyone about these boys and was thinking he sees something maybe we dont ............

Been thinking, or rather wishing, the last days that the club still waits for Huntelaar's situation to change. If Ibrahimovic was to be sold to Milan, they themselves would probably, as stated, need to sell one of their strikers.
If that goes down the drain, I'd like to see Villa get Toivonen. He would fit any line-up.

The thought of some of these foreigners being available to us now that MoN has left is quite appealing!

I dont see us buying anyone this window English,Scottish or from anywhere as

A) We do not have a full-time manager (the silence from the club on that is deafing), that could change but they need to get a move on

B) Randy made it crystal clear that until some of the "squad players" were moved on he wasnt spending any more money
and as that has not happened end of story

C) You look around the papers/gossip web-sites and we are not been linked with anyone
