I think/hope Keane's a non-starter now that MON's gone.

so apart from Robbie Keane who else might be available for striker. (Hopefully Heskey as well for other club to buy)

Klaas-Jan Huntleaar if Randy wants to splash out some doubloons. If he doesn't Milan might be receptive to an offer to take him on loan.

and replace Heskey with any inanimate object you care to name.

Like one of those fluffy snakes my nan used to have. She used to place it by the door to her flat to stop the draft coming in

I suspect we won't get anyone in unless we can shift some of the dead wood, and I think we may have a job doing that given the wages they are on - not many teams who might want them could afford their wages I reckon. Maybe Sunderland might go for Beye, though perhaps not with Onouha signing.

If we do manage to get rid of a couple, I can see a signing of anywhere up to £10m. Either a forward or a central midfielder to be more combative alongside Petrov, as an alternative to NRC.

Can't really think of any gettable candidates from the prem though, apart from people like Bentley, who might work in a 3 man midfield, but equally might take the place of Albrighton.

It'd be a risk, but I wouldn't be devastated to wait till January and see what we need then, given the absence of a manager

From the Daily Mail:

Aston Villa in Pole position to sign winger Kamil Grosicki

Aston Villa have made an approach for Polish international winger Kamil Grosicki.

The 22-year-old has won three caps, and impressed with his first division club Jagiellonia Bialystok.

Villa officials have now spoken with Bialystok president Cezary Kulesza about Grosicki, who is under contract until 2012.

Italians Chievo, Turkish champions Bursaspor and Greek side Aris Salonika are also interested in the £600,000-rated player.

'I've had calls from various clubs, such as Aris FC and most recently Aston Villa,' Kulesza said.

'But for now all I've done has been to answer the phone - we have not yet received anything official in writing.'

Grosicki began his career with hometown club Pogon Szczecin, and had spells with Legia Warsaw and Swiss side Sion before joining Bialystok in 2008.

He may have heard something. He may have heard "no".

The Mirror reckon West Brom want Sidwell. I would not be unhappy if they got him, and then completed the triple by signing Heskey!

As I'm leaving, I thought I'd buy you a present. It's probably your only chance to put on a Man City shirt this season.
