How about he's going to talk to Leonardo about becoming our new manager?

Trees on VT has been most reliable with his reporting of Randy's flights in the past, so we can believe Randy was off to Milan this morning. My guess is with Ibrahimovic reportedly leaving Barca for Milan, Huntelaar could be available.

I'd love to think that's true, but my guess is that Randy has other business interests outside Villa and that's the reason for the trip.
According to his air mile stalker, Trees, it's the first time Lerner has ever flown to Milan.

Is no-one else thinking...Flamini?

Is no-one else thinking...new suit?

I think it's more likely he would be on a flight to Rio if that's what he was aiming for.

I'll throw one more name into the big Milan trip bonanza - Sulley Muntari.

He's another one we should be aimng for in the Citeh deal.

He'd have had a hatrick yesterday against that defence.

If we sign Huntelaar and or Flamini with MacDonald in charge I think he will be so for the next few months. I am also sure I posted this 2 hours ago, but can't see it anywhere!

Would be great to have those two though wouldn't it. Two genuinely big name, quality players. Sell a few season tickets and raise our profile a fair bit I would imagine.

No. Shoes from Italy, suits from Saville Row.

I said to a few mates last night those 2 and preferably Milner staying, or if not Ireland, would make us a very good side.  I'd actually go so far as to put a fair wedge on us getting top 3 if that's how it turned out.

We already know we have a very good back 5 and good cover for all the spots (left back is possibly a issue but young, lichaj, and possibly clark could all do a job there for a few months if Warnock took a serious knock) so we're not going to concede too many but we just need a little bit more backbone in the middle for the tough hard fought midfield battles, which Flamini would bring (as well as being a very good passer of a ball).

In an attacking sense we just need to give teams something else to worry about.  Carew and Gabby are both very good players but you wouldn't put your house on them if the ball drops to them with just the keeper to beat.  Huntelaar is very good at that and also has the knack of getting something to the ball and hitting the target (the Fonz has this too in my opinion which is why he's so highly rated).  His strike rate has taken a bit of a battering in italy and spain but it's still pretty good (15 goals for 24 starts and 21 subs appearances with most of his goals in the games he started).

I'd personally be very very excited if Randy came back from Italy with those 2.

As for the comment that we have no money what are you basing that on?  Is it the repeated reassurances from a member of the board, on this site, that the money for signings is there but they wanted to reduce the wage bill first, or is it from the stories that have been reported in the press due to the above wage scenario being incorrectly described as a sell to buy policy?  Do you believe that Mon quit because he wasn't allowed to use the Milner money as well?

In that case I'll grab the line out of my previous post...
