Also Harewood, Shorey, Milner & Bouma are off the wage bill and we have sold Miler at a profit so why can't that money be put into the team?

I think there is transfer money to spend. Its the wage bill in particular that had to be brought under control.

I think all transfers should be shelved until a new man is in place.  Yes, the likes of Sidwell and heskey aren't good enough and none of us would object to going, but I don't think a new manager would want to make those decisions himself and not get the feeling that the board is going to make these decisions.

The exception to this should be the Milner/Ireland deal.  Firstly it's pretty much done so we should honour it and secondly it's a VERY good piece of business in anyone's book!

Well, what have we lost so far wages wise?  If we include January, then we're looking at:-
Gardner
Shorey
Harewood
Bouma
Milner (as good as done)

It it's the percentage to turnover that's the issue, then we also have to factor in the FxPro sponsorship and other commercial deals.  So could we not say that this has been addressed already?

Get rid of Heskey, PX Davies for Keane and a bit of cash and thats it for the window. Wage bill would be reduced but not to what RAL wants. Still more to go in Jan before we can start signing players again is my view

When you look at who has already left and Milner going, we have already reduced the wage bill considerably.

Bouma, Shorey & Harewood I would guess were on £30k p/w ish

O'hallaran & Marshall would not have been on more than £10k between them.

Milner gone and Ireland in will roughly cancel each others wages out.

Saved £5.2 million already.

Just need to get rid of Heskey and Sidwell and free up another £4 million.
Keep Beye, NRC and Young as they are all good players who can still offer something to the team

I don't have a problem with the Chairman saying to the Manager (whoever he is) - 'can we have a look at some of the players who aren't being used in the first team before we sign anymore?' Seems very reasonable to me - especially if said players are not even being used.
