BESIKTAS are trying to tempt Aston Villa to sell striker John Carew with a £4m bid.

Carew is out of contract at the end of the season and the Turks hope to persuade Villa to sell before he walks out on a free transfer.

The Norwegian was a big hit with Besiktas fans when he scored 14 goals in 28 games for the Eagles back in 2004.

He only stayed one year in Turkey but Besiktas boss Bernd Schuster is keen to bring him back for a second stint.

The Eagles have already signed Real Madrid star Guti and Inter Milan winger Ricardo Quaresma this summer.

The Sunday Times is reporting that McGeady will reject any move to Moscow. He is holding out for a move to us.

I think all that is waiting is for the Milner transfer to go through, and the money will make it's way back to City.
