NRC is on £40k+ a week?

That is a fucking joke.

In fairness, he's done a wee bit more than some of the other dross on high wages.

He was a big part of our decent season in 2007/08, filled in admirably (for the most part) at RB in 2008/09 (though was far better at RM) and plays with a determination and effort not always matched by others.

Unless we sign better, I'd be sorry to see him go.

Me too, KG.

And actually, though it's heartbreaking to say it, £40k a week is probably the average PL footballer's wage these days.

We need NRC, especially while Delph is out.

Now I'm not Nigel's biggest fan (In fact for me he's the single most frustrating player we've had he quite frankly does my nut in) but to sell him is pure folly unless we have a quality player like Flamini in. To sell him for £1million is utterly insane. We need him.

A two of Ireland if we get him and Petrov simply isn't good enough. It will probably be the death of Stan as Milner got stuck in a bit more. Now I'd much prefer to have a considerably better player than Coker in there but still he's a useful enough player.

Just seen in yesterday's Mirror (Irish version) that Trapattoni 'confirmed' Robbie Keane wasn't injured, and that Spurs aren't playing him because he is due to leave.

'arry lying, eh? Whoda thunk it.

Yeah,i dont think he's ever really let us down, was dodgy at RB,but that isn't his position. He hit some good form towards the end of his first season, its a shame its gone tits up since his training ground bust up.

Reo-Coker is sick.

He's like Kaka without the skills, his hop skip and a jump whilst running with the ball at lethal speed then being brought down in the box against Liverpool... that's what he can offer. His engine is just as good as good as Milner's, and offers that bit of steel and crunch we're going to need in midfield now that Milner will be leaving.

Petrov gets too tired and weary too quickly and doesn't really offer any drive going foward with 20+ minutes to go. I'd prefer it if Reo-Kaka played instead of Petrov tbh; Ireland + Reo-Kaka would be a deadly partnership.

I'm pretty sure I just saw Luke Young in Wimbledon. Not that you can read too much into this, but potentially down in Fulham for talks?

I reckon there will be bucket loads of signings in the next 2 weeks or so. With us getting perhaps 4 players:

Ireland, Keane, a right back and one more midfielder I reckon. Milner, Young and perhaps Sidders to go. Can't see the sense in letting NRC go unless we ge t a better player of his type - perhaps a Flamini - in. But wouldn't see the case for upgrading to Jenas for the additional cost involved given that we have Delph back next season

I was just looking at the Youtube link on Ireland supplied by Villablog and though he appears madder than a bag of cut snakes, I think if we get him the signing will excite me more than probably any since O'Neill has been here. It just makes me sad that Hull won't be around 'cos he seemed to enjoy tearing them another more than any other team!

I see Keane scored another two for Spurs today and Redknapp in the press conference afterwards said he did'nt want to sell him because he would be hard to replace.

He'll be gone by Monday then.

It's good he's showing form in pre-season I know you can't judge much on pre-season but he obviously seems to have got over the fitness issues that I was worried about.

Now I'll go as far as to say I'll be happy with Keane. A bit of a turnaround from where I was a few weeks back but the idea has grown on me.
